Ship Sunshine announces a giving campaign this August, donating 50 percent of profits to four Denver-based nonprofits in the spirit of Be Kind to Humankind Week.
“Each of these organizations represents an opportunity for us to remember basic human decency and that we’re all in this together,” said Costello. “We all need a helping hand or a little sunshine sometimes.”
Ship Sunshine will role out this campaign starting August 26th, 2019. Each day Ship Sunshine customers will know that purchases are providing a donation to one of these organizations offering kindness and compassion to the Denver community.
The schedule of partnering organizations per day of Be Kind to Humankind week is as follows:
Tuesday, 8/27 – Period Kits offers a 90-day supply of period products to people experiencing homelessness, unstable housing, and extreme poverty.
Wednesday, 8/28 – One Colorado advocates for advancing equality for LGBTQ Coloradans.
Thursday, 8/29 – SAME Cafe is a donation-based, fair exchange restaurant that serves healthy food to everyone, regardless of ability to pay.
Friday, 8/30 – Women’s Bean Project helps chronically unemployed women break the cycle of poverty.
“This premise is why I started Ship Sunshine,” said Ship Sunshine CEO, Anna Costello. “My goal is to make being kind and thoughtful an actionable mindset. You have the power to brighten someone’s day and there are so many beautiful things that can happen from people taking a moment to be kind to one another.”
Best for Colorado honoree, Ship Sunshine offers cheery ready-made and build-your-own gift boxes. With a variety of themes – thinking of you, engagement, get well soon, pet lovers, new home, client appreciation and more – there’s something for everyone. It’s an easy way to send a friend, loved one, or client a delightful gift to let them know you’re thinking of them to celebrate all of life’s moments, whether big or small.
